Benjamin is a seasoned litigator who represents clients in commercial litigation matters. His experience spans all stages of litigation, from pre-lawsuit negotiations through trial, and he has authored and argued dozens of successful motions resulting in the early dismissal of claims.
Prior to joining Yu | Mohandesi, Benjamin was with Paul Hastings LLP where his practice focused on complex litigation and arbitration. Benjamin has also served as in-house counsel for startups in the technology and lifestyle sectors where he managed litigation, intellectual property, employment, and corporate matters.
A small sampling of Ben’s successful representative matters include:
- Key member of trial team and primary author of briefs in successful defense of $900+ million collection action related to misappropriation of intellectual property
- Lead trial counsel prevailing on all counts (claims and cross-claims) in real estate dispute
- Defended simultaneous claims in more than 20 state and federal juridical districts as part of asset-protection strategy for global client pending appeal of adverse judgment
- Represented multiple clients with high-value sales forces in actions involving trade-secret protection and employee mobility claims
- Represented Am Law 100 firm in defense of legal malpractice and professional negligence claims
- Represented contractor in international arbitration related to construction defects at US-funded military facilities in Iraq
- Defeated class certification in an action against debt-settlement service provider
- Prosecuted multiple jury trials and felony preliminary hearings during secondment to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office
